The idea for the website "Totally WordPress" had been playing in our heads for some time already, but after reading an interesting article over at WPTavern.com we decided to bite the bullet.

Basically when we are developing websites we are constantly looking at our list of on- and offline bookmarks and different RSS feeds to find the various little tricks that we need for this or that. It would be ideal to have our own place with all the WordPress hacks, plugins, tips and more tricks available, to find the things we need when we need them.

Jeffro of WPTavern.com wrote about a conversation he had with Ryan Imel of ThemePlayground.com about whether or not the online information on WordPress is too scattered around the net.

Would it be a good idea to have one place on the net that has a collection of all valuable information, instead of having a plethora of websites that offer such?

Of course - as is the case for every discussion - there are supporters and opponents for this concept. After all there are plenty of great websites with very specific and valuable information. And how easy is it to subscribe to their respective RSS feeds in order to stay up to date with the latest tips, tricks and what not?

Our opinion is that wading through all these feeds in search for the "Holy Grail" can become very time consuming and therefore see a "one-stop-shop" as a very good alternative.

Please don't get deterred by the word "shop" in the sentence above; of course we will not charge for the information that is after all freely available on the net to start with!
